Japanese Style Remodel
|
This project
was a complete remodel of an old Portland ranch that had been remodeled
many times before. 95% of this home was resurfaced or recovered. John
Chlopek of Riverland Homes designed the home to create a restful surrounding
with a Japanese country home theme. The half-acre Japanese gardens become
part of the living space through large wood windows and natural fir
woodwork throughout. Granite counters, slate floor, teak woodwork and
antique heart pine flooring create an eloquent cozy place to retire
to after a day of work. Special emphasis in design was given to low
maintenance living and hidden storage, giving the home a clean elegant
feel. This project was completed in 8 months.
