DUNTHORPE HOME
|
This home
is an extensive remodel and addition of a 1904 home on the Willamette
River in Dunthorpe. The home sits on a beautiful site with many technical
challenges. The finished product is a synthesis of client/builder/architect
collaboration. It is 7,800 square feet sided in Canadian Skurl siding
with clear fir windows and hand made fir window trim. The interior is
clear fir woodwork and Siberian Larch flooring. The curved cantilevered
granite counters, fir cabinets, and bamboo ceilings all reflect the
clients' love of natural materials and warm surroundings. All materials
from the original home not reused were removed by hand and recycled.
The original stone fireplace was dismantled and rebuilt. This project,
including the demolition phase, was completed in 10 months.
